Guiding Districts and Patrols enjoy a variety of fun activities and opportunities to socialize with many girls from their local area, nationally and world-wide, including:
  • International/National & Local Camps
  • Day Special Events
  • Bowling
  • Canoeing
  • Archery
  • Outdoor & Indoor Cooking
  • Bush Care
  • Wide Games
  • Abseiling
  • Water & Boating Activities
  • High & Low Ropes Courses
  • Hiking
  • and much, much more!!

Weekly meetings are mostly held indoors at a regular meeting hall. However, there are many times you will have activities outdoors too. These activities will include games and learning basic skills to prepare you for camps and other outdoor adventures. You will not just participate in outdoor activities at weekly meetings as there are many opportunities for you to attend special outdoor activity days and camps held on weekends or in the school holidays.

Going camping and trying new outdoor activities with your Guiding friends is so much fun! You get to experience new adventures and laughs with your friends while working together in a small team (your Patrol).

Girl Guides is the largest organization in the world, for girls and young women.  In Australia, we have over 700 guiding territories and 28,000+ members, including leaders.  It provides leadership and personal skills development for it's members, including 22,000 youth members.

Girl Guides Australia are always looking for opportunities to train and support the development of women (of all ages) in various valuable vocations.

We provide a non-formal educational program that is dynamic and flexible while offering values based training in life skills, decision making and leadership. The Australian Guide Program is delivered to girls by trained volunteer leaders.

We are:

  • A valuable not-for-profit organisation that involves volunteers at all levels of its operations.
  • An organisation that involves volunteers in its work to enable our members to gain maximum benefit from the unique knowledge and skills volunteers are able to offer.

Our Mission is to enable girls and young women to grow into confident, self respecting, responsible community members.

Our 2015 Aspiration is to be Australia’s leading organisation for girls and young women in leadership and personal development.

WHO CAN JOIN?

You are welcome!!

Membership of Girl Guides is open to girls from 5 to 17 years of age (depending on which State association), and women 18 years and over. Each girl and adult member makes a promise which shows their commitment to the principles of Guiding and is her link with the 10 million other Guides world wide.

HOW DO WE JOIN?

A simple phone call and a visit is all it takes to get the ball rolling - call today to find out  how valuable and fun our group is.  Girls 5-18 years and women from 18 years join Guides in their local community and become members of their State organization. Each organisation offers girls the opportunity to enjoy Guiding through the Australian Guide Program.  The Australian Adult Leadership Program provides the framework to equip all Leaders with the skills relevant to their role in Guiding. The Australian Guide Program and the Australian Adult Leadership Program are reviewed regularly to ensure Guiding remains relevant to Australia's women of tomorrow.

Guiding is available Australia wide. Girl Guides Australia is comprised of seven member organisations, one in each State, the Australian Capital Territory and the Northern Territory.
